Letter: Pay it forward, help others

In these days of gloom — weather disasters, fires, and misconduct of mankind — I encountered a ray of sunshine!

Last Tuesday, I was shopping for toiletries for St. Vincent de Paul at Fred Meyer. My large volumes — 42 bottles of shampoo, 48 deodorants, baby wipes and tampons — created a conversation with a kind gentleman behind me. After discussion about how St. Vincent de Paul provides food, clothing and turkey boxes filled with items to make dinner at Thanksgiving and Christmas, he asked to pay for the supplies! He, too, was helped by Share House once.

So, may “Jeff” have a very Merry Christmas, knowing he helped so many homeless and low income in our city. Thank you, and may God bless you.
