Boys basketball: Madison (Ore.) 75, Battle Ground 59

Coach Manny Melo described Kaden Perry playing “lights out” in the interior with a career game in the young freshman’s career. He finished with 27 points and 22 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass.

What led to the freshman being so dominant in the nonleague loss in Portland was him being aggressive, Melo said.

“He was being a leader on the floor,” Melo said.

BG, however, struggled from the outside, hitting just four 3-pointers. It entered Friday averaging around 10 per game. Madison hit 13.
