Payten Foster scored 15 points in Woodland’s loss to Cle Elum in the first game of the Central Washington Tournament in Ellensburg.

Foster scored 10 of her 15 points during a third-quarter comeback that brought the Beavers within two. But Cle Elum quickly regained control.

It was Woodland’s third game in four days.

Nicole Guthrie grabbed 12 rebounds for the Beavers.

“Our goal was to not play lackadaisical, take care of the ball, but we didn’t,” Woodland coach Glen Flanagan said. “We turned it over.”

Cle Elum’s Grace Terrill scored 11 of her 16 points in the first quarter.
