Central Vancouver — Kaiser Permanente employees split up around seven different locations Jan. 16 to participate in different volunteer projects as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. The biggest turnout was at Innovative Services NW, where 35 employees completed a variety of tasks. The Kaiser employees created a mural in honor of King, cleaned several client rooms, built an outside pergola to provide shade in the summer and painted rocks in the Adult Day Health Center. Innovative is a Vancouver-based nonprofit that works with more than 1,300 children and adults facing disabilities and disadvantages.
