As part of ongoing traffic safety efforts, extra officers with the Vancouver, Battle Ground and Washougal police departments, along with additional state troopers, will be out on the county’s roadways Super Bowl Sunday looking for impaired drivers.

The additional patrols will include officers trained in recognizing drug-affected drivers, and are paid for through a state grant.

The Vancouver Police Department, which administers the grant, encouraged football fans and revellers to make sure they have a safe way home on game day, and that any party hosts help their guests with the same.

The department encouraged anyone who spots a seemingly impaired driver to dial 911.
