Salmon Creek and Felida — Friends of Trees is expanding to three new neighborhoods outside Vancouver this year. Residents in Felida, North Salmon Creek and West Hazel Dell can now participate in Friends of Trees’ Neighborhood Trees planting program, in which street trees are planted at people’s homes. April 8 is the first time these neighborhoods will be included in Friends of Trees’ plantings in the Vancouver area.

Residents of those neighborhoods, as well as those within Vancouver city limits, can have Friends of Trees plant a tree at their property for a contribution of $35. Friends of Trees has added 5,000 trees to Southwest Washington since it started service the area in 2002, and an estimated 600 new trees will be added this season, according to a release from the organization.

Residents interested in potentially getting a street tree planted at their home are asked to visit www.friendsoftrees.org/plant or call 503-467-2530.
