East Vancouver — When Shahala Middle School student Ashley Lin heard how many students were in Evergreen Public Schools’ Students in Transition program, she wanted to do something to help out, so she organized a pancake breakfast. She raised $752, which will be used to meet the needs of students in the program.

Sisters Ellieanna and Moriah Ross, also Shahala students, helped Students in Transition recently by hosting a coat drive at the school. They collected more than 100 coats to be distributed to students in the program throughout Evergreen schools.

The program is open to students who lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence.
