A 71-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly stabbing three family members at their rural north Clark County residence, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to 4017 N.E. 425th St., about seven miles east of Woodland, where Marvin Chadwick was being restrained by a family member, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Once there, deputies were told that Chadwick had gone into a “fit of rage” and stabbed three family members, two women and one man, at about 7:30 a.m., the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies took Chadwick into custody on suspicion of three counts of first-degree assault.

The victims were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with injuries described as not life-threatening.

The motive for the assault is still under investigation, and detectives with the agency’s major crimes unit are continuing their investigation.
