Clark College hosts author, former student

Vancouver – Clark College will host Mitchell S. Jackson, award-winning author of the novel “The Residue Years,” as part of its Columbia Writer Series.

Mitchell will read from and discuss his writing from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday in room PUB on Clark’s main campus at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way. The event is free and open to the public.

Jackson, who was raised in Portland, attended Clark College at 1993, where he played basketball. He later transferred, and eventually earned a master’s degree in writing from Portland State and a master’s of fine arts in creative writing from New York University. He lives in New York, where he is on the faculty of both New York University and Columbia University.
