Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council.

For information on the following and other opportunities, call 360-735-3683.

• C-Tran seeks bus rapid transit ambassadors to help people unfamiliar with traveling by bus and those with disabilities learn how to board, pay the fare and use wheelchair bays.

• Klineline Kids Fishing Nonprofit is looking for help with online registration, beginning Feb. 1 for the April event where thousands of children can learn about and experience fishing. Volunteers are needed to return phone calls and emails and troubleshoot online registration issues.

• Volunteer Connections seeks adult mentors at various nonprofits to be a positive influence in someone’s life. Some positions — such as the school Lunch Buddy program — require just a few hours a month.

• The VA Medical Center is looking for recreational therapy volunteers to escort patients to programs, help with activities like bingo, board games and movies, and with outings from the medical center.

• Catholic Community Services seeks volunteers to drive low income elderly or disabled people to medical appointments, the grocery store, or other essential errands.
