Letter: West-side bridge is the answer

A new Interstate 5 bridge is simply a bridge to a bottleneck, and light rail would cost us millions yearly in maintenance fees. A western bridge and a freeway through Cornelius Pass through Beaverton-Hillsboro, Ore., cutting that commute to 20 minutes (or less), would be a lot easier than fixing the I-5 bottleneck and it would provide an alternative truck route around Portland. It would make Portland much more pleasant and provide actual traffic relief.

This is not a new idea. Much smarter people than me planned this years ago and it is high time we listened to them.
