Letter: Thanks for the assistance

Major events such as our epic snowstorm can bring out the best in us.

I am a senior and needed to stock up at Fred Meyer so I could stay off the roads. Arriving at the Columbia House Fred Meyer, I found the parking lot unplowed, and a mass of snow, slush and ice.

Hobbling with my cane from my car, a young man in a flannel shirt (where was his jacket?) asked me if he could offer his arm to help me to the front doors.

Thanks to him (I wish I knew his name) I made it safely into the store, and was able to ride an electric cart back to my car after shopping.
