A single-vehicle crash blocked both directions of state Highway 500 near Robinson Road north of Camas overnight Wednesday.

Carson Adams, 17, of Washougal was driving a Volvo S60 west on the highway when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a utility pole at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Washington State Patrol.

Adams was injured in the crash and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Traffic was blocked in both directions on state Highway 500 until about 10 a.m. Wednesday when the pole was replaced, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.

The State Patrol said that speed caused the collision but added that troopers are still investigating and have not decided on charges.
