Hockinson – Hockinson School District board member Katherine Davis announced her resignation at Monday’s meeting, effective Jan. 31.

Davis’ family sold their home in the district, so she had to give up her position on the board. She joined the board in 2011, and served as the board’s legislative representative. Davis was also a substitute teacher and on committees at Hockinson schools prior to joining the school board.

“She has been a resourceful representative both of her district — District No. 5 — and of the entire school district at the state level, sharing how state policies impact smaller districts,” Superintendent Sandra Yager said in a release from the district.

District 5 residents interested in filling the board vacancy can submit a letter to Superintendent Yager at sandra.yager@hocksd.org by Feb. 28. A map showing the District 5 boundaries is available at www.hocksd.org/district_information/school_board.
