PORT ANGELES — A road through Olympic National Park has reopened months after it was damaged by severe storms.

The Peninsula Daily News reports that park officials reopened Olympic Hot Springs Road on Thursday. The road had been closed since November 2015, when storms washed out a section and damaged infrastructure.

The road has been opened to vehicles as far as the Glines Canyon overlook, which allows visitors to view the site of the former Glines Canyon dam.

Olympic Hot Springs Road and Whiskey Bend Road above Glines Canyon remain closed because of snow and ice.
