Letter: Reason to support methanol plant

By Henry V. Diaz, VANCOUVER

To address climate change we need to look beyond our shores. The Kalama methanol plant project makes sense. We can wean countries from consuming harmful fuels, so let’s do it. Former Washington Gov. Locke says it best, “China needs to move away from using coal and that is why this project is so important.” The project would convert natural gas to methanol, which would be shipped to Asia as a replacement for coal. We cry for environmental solutions and here is one that makes sense but our NIMBYs oppose.
