A 69-year-old Vancouver man was seriously injured in a collision Sunday night while making a lane change on his motorcycle on the Interstate 5 Bridge.

According to Washington State Police, officers responded to a call about 5:43 p.m. Sunday when a collision was reported on the bridge. Marcus Hoffman of Vancouver was reportedly injured while making a lane change heading southbound in the center lane on the bridge while riding his BMW motorcycle when it collided with a two-door Acura driven by Matthew Stanley, 76, of Fircrest.

The report states that Hoffman made a lane change into the left lane and struck the passenger side of Stanley’s vehicle. Stanley was not injured.

The motorcycle was towed away, and no alcohol was involved, according to reports. Hoffman was wearing his helmet.

Hoffman was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland where he was listed in serious condition.
