Minor League baseball update No. 4 on Clark County athletes through games of July 8, 2017:

Triple-A

Jeff Ames (Skyview HS), Durham Bulls (International League, Tampa Bay Rays)
Position: RHP
Season stats: 0-1, 3.51 ERA, 28 games, 2/2 saves/opportunities, 41.0 IP, 52 Ks, 25 BB, 1.34 WHIP
Recent highlights: Has not given up an earned run in last three appearances. Pitched one inning of relief on July 8 with two strikeouts against the Toledo Mud Hens.

Double-A

Taylor Ard (Prairie HS), Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (Southern League, Miami Marlins)
Position: 1B
Season stats: 81 games, .251 BA, 13 2B, 8 HR, 35 RBI, .302 OBP, .376 SLG
Recent highlights: Hit a two-run home run in a 6-4 loss in the first game of a doubleheader against Montgomery on July 8. Went 2 for 5 with two doubles and two RBI in a 10-1 win over Montgomery on July 4.

Clint Coulter (Union HS), Biloxi Shuckers (Southern League, Milwaukee Brewers)
Position: OF
Season stats: 68 games, .254 BA, 12 2B, 10 HR, 34 RBI, .325 OBP, .447 SLG
Recent highlights: Hit his 10th home run of the season, a 3-run shot against Pensacola in an 11-6 victory. Also hit a solo home run against Pensacola on July 5. It was the start of a 4-game hit streak.

Taylor Williams (Camas HS), Biloxi Shuckers (Southern League, Milwaukee Brewers 40-man roster)
Position: RHP
Season stats: 0-2, 3.30 ERA, 13 games, 12 starts, 30.0 IP, 39 Ks, 15 BB, 1.50 WHIP
Recent highlights: Started against Pensacola on July 5. He gave up two runs on one hit with one walk and six strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings but did not get a decision.

Single-A (advanced)

Ian Hamilton (Skyview HS), Winston-Salem Dash (Carolina League, Chicago White Sox)

Recent highlights: Was credited with first hold of season by throwing 2 2/3 no-hit shut out innings in a 7-4 win against Down East (Rangers) on July 5.

Tommy Thorpe (Evergreen HS), Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Carolina League, Chicago Cubs)
Position: LHP
Season stats: 3-2, 4.03 ERA, 23 games, 38.0 IP, 36 Ks, 16 BB, 1.37 WHIP
Recent highlights: Closed out the last three games he has appeared in. Struck out three with no walks, two hits and no runs in an 8-3 loss to Frederick (Orioles) on July 7.
