Letter: Ban is neighborly thing to do

By Don Greenwood, VANCOUVER

On July 4, I read the letter from a Vancouver resident who wrote it was a dark and sad day that fireworks are no longer legal within the Vancouver city limits. I felt her grief, and how much neighborhood fireworks have meant to she and her family.

However, if residents of Vancouver had been considerate of their neighbors through the years, it’s unlikely this ban would have happened. Getting to actually know neighbors and caring for their safety and peace of mind would have resulted in significantly less damage to homes, property, and emotional trauma for veterans, seniors, and pets.

It’s my opinion that unless good will among neighbors in unincorporated Clark County becomes a reality, a total ban will result, especially south of 219th Street.
