Fire damaged a house in Battle Ground early Wednesday, according to Clark County Fire District 3.

The fire was reported at 1:05 a.m. at 1804 N.W. Third St., according to dispatch records.

Crews from Fire District 3 arrived at 1:10 a.m. to find fire in a crawl space under the house, according to Fire District 3 Capt. Mel Hall. Residents of the house had gotten out of the house safely.

Thirteen firefighters responded to the blaze, with four engines and one battalion chief from Fire District 3, with one engine from Clark County Fire & Rescue providing mutual aid, Hall said. No firefighters were injured, he said.

The fire was contained to the crawl space and was brought under control in about 30 minutes, Hall said. Crews were on scene until just after 3 a.m.

Damage was estimated at $20,000, and Fire District 3’s fire marshal determined the fire’s cause to be accidental.
