Ridgefield — The Friends of the Ridgefield Community Library unveiled a new Little Free Library on June 17. The library was constructed and painted by student volunteers. There are more than 50,000 such free libraries around the world, according to a release from the Friends. The tiny libraries provide a free neighborhood book exchange opportunity to help foster a shared sense of community and love of reading. Maddox and Paxson Stewart were the first “customers” at the new Little Free Library located near Taverner Ridge on South Hillhurst Road. They brought a book to donate and found a few to take home.
