Letter: We can do better on health care

I know, let’s have a lottery! Here’s an idea almost as mean as the Sen. Ben Sasse/President Trump wreck and wash-your-hands plan for ditching the Affordable Care Act. Twenty-two million people is roughly 6.8 percent of the U.S. population. And 6.8 percent of 365 days is about 25. So, we pull 25 dates out of a drum. If you were born on one of them, well pal, tough luck. Young, old, rich or poor, you get whatever health care the industry has left over.

This should appeal to anyone in Congress whose heart lies on the bottom line.
