Vancouver – A short section of Northeast Salmon Creek Street east of Washington State University Vancouver will close next week so an unstable roadside area can be shored up.

The road will close Monday, and the construction should end sometime in the fall. A map of the construction area is available at www.clark.wa.gov/public-works.

Working for Clark County Public Works, Tapani Inc., will repair about 50 feet of eroded stream bank east of Northeast 50th Avenue.

Additionally, areas about 60 feet on either side of the bank will be improved to make the area more secure. A guardrail and precast concrete barrier also will be installed.

The contract is valued at $632,240.
