A Vancouver motorcyclist remains in serious condition after a crash last week near Evergreen High School.

Frederick Decker, 51, remains hospitalized at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center after the July 11 crash, according to Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

Decker was riding east on East 18th Street at about 4:35 p.m. when he either lost control of his bike or struck the center median in the 14100 block, Kapp said.

Decker had reportedly been speeding and weaving in and out of traffic prior to the crash, Kapp said. Traffic investigators said that speed and alcohol appear to have been factors in the crash.

No citations have been issued, but the investigation is ongoing.
