Letter: Keep C-W port commission

By Richard Hamby, WASHOUGAL
Published: July 19, 2017, 6:00am

The Port of Camas-Washougal’s new Washougal Waterfront Park adds to their many contributions in job creation, economic development and recreational opportunities. The port is widely recognized as a successful, collaborative part of our community.

Commissioners John Spencer and Larry Keister, on the ballot in November, have each drawn a challenger, likely wishing to join in the port’s success. They should first attend some commission meetings, get to know the port and how it functions. It’s good to understand what is needed before assuming you are the answer.

We need to keep our current commissioners and our port’s current direction.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
