Woodland — Author Chad Trisef promoted childhood literacy at Woodland Middle School last month while talking to students during assemblies spread across two days. Trisef and his brother, Wayne Trisef, teamed up to write the book series “Oracle” under the pen name C.W. Trisef — Chad and Wayne Trisef. The series follows Ret, a teenager exploring the world’s real-life mysteries to collect elements in order to save the world. Chad Trisef is a father to five kids and said he didn’t like reading much when he was younger but wanted to make sure his own children had stories to read and ones that weren’t too violent. “I wanted to write books about social elements, such as freedom, self-control, charity and forgiveness,” he said in a release from the district. In addition to publishing books, the two brothers visit schools around the country at no charge to talk about how they came up with the ideas in their book series and to promote reading to children of all ages.
