East Vancouver — Cascade Middle School hosted a St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving fundraiser for childhood cancer research June 1, which also featured an exotic car display, large slide and vendors from several local businesses.

The event raised $7,984. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation hosts head-shaving events around the world to raise money for research to find cures for childhood cancers, and give survivors long and healthy lives.

The foundation has awarded $200 million in research grant funding since 2005.
