Hudson’s Bay — The Fort Vancouver Lions Club donated $23,500 to the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site for the purchase, installation and lighting of the Garrison Flagstaff.

In a release from the club, President Tony Licata said the Lions were partially inspired to make the donation because 2017 is the centennial anniversary of Lions Clubs International.

“In that spirit, the Fort Vancouver Lions have chosen to support a community-legacy project as part of our centennial celebration,” he said in the release. “Our Lions Club name is taken from Fort Vancouver, and the Lions recognize the importance of the National Historic Site to our community.”
