A mystery puzzling many readers and some of us in the newsroom will soon be solved.

“Just south of Northeast 179th Street near Northeast 81st Avenue, there is a round white building in a field. What is it? Google Maps says it is a nightclub.”

That question from a reader who recently submitted it to our Clark Asks initiative outpolled two others in a voting round to be the topic we report on next.

The winning question received 42 percent of the vote, beating out these questions:

• What outdoor activities are available in Clark County for people in a wheelchair, such as camping, hiking, swimming and exploring?

• The landing at the Evergreen retail development in east Vancouver: When can we expect the Bridgeport Village-style complex to break ground?

Those two trailed with 30 percent and 28 percent of the vote, respectively.

Intrepid reporter Adam Littman has begun digging for the answer to the question, and this much we can say.

The building in question is most definitely not a nightclub.

Stay tuned to learn what it really is.

And if your favorite question didn’t get selected to move to the head of our to-do list in this voting round, fear not. It doesn’t mean we won’t report on the other questions you’ve asked. They’re all good questions, and there’s a good chance we’ll get to them.
