A fire in a Battle Ground house Saturday that spread from the garage to the kitchen caused an estimated $200,000 in damage, according to fire investigators.

Cigarettes appear to be the most probable cause of the blaze, Clark County Deputy Fire Marshal Curtis Eavenson said.

Crews were called to 122 S.W. 19th Place in Battle Ground around 11:45 a.m. Saturday and extinguished the fire in about 10 minutes, Clark County Fire District 3 Battalion Chief Dave O’Brien said.

The fire affected three adults and three children, according to the Red Cross, which had volunteers respond to the scene. No injuries were reported.
