PORTLAND — After a very hot (and in some cases record-setting) weekend across the region, a solid band of clouds greets the day Monday and with it marine air that well help to cool off the metro area for at least the next three days.
Monday morning starts off with plenty of clouds and lows in the high 50s to low 60s, many will welcome the break and chance to cool off those living spaces.
The weekend brought record-setting temps in the metro area including Saturday’s 98 degrees breaking the former record of 96 (1992) and Sunday’s 101 which tied the record at the Portland airport set in 2006. Hillsboro broke a heat record Sunday with a high of 100, Vancouver did too with 101. Well, that’s enough of that.
Some areas in the Cascades, the foothills and in Lane County could see a thunderstorm on Monday. The chances for thunderstorms decrease after noon.
