Letter: Politicians’ sick approach

I am writing about the June 21 editorial, “In Our View — Sick Approach to Heath Bill.” How can the person who wrote it say the Democrats had such a good approach to passing the Affordable Care Act?

If I remember correctly, they didn’t know what was in it. It had so many pages, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said, “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it,” and that’s where the trouble started.

President Obama said that people could keep their same doctors and clinics. He didn’t even know what was in it. And people who didn’t buy it were fined.

On the same page of the June 21 Columbian is Jim Camden’s opinion column, “If you blink, you might miss a ‘pro forma’ session.” Boy, would I like a job with the Legislature. Don’t do what you’re supposed to do in the first session, same for second session, and don’t even show up for it. Hmm. Could there possibly be a third, fourth and fifth? I would have to show up for one of those, maybe.
