A five-story, 68-room hotel has been proposed near Vancouver Mall, according to pre-application documents filed with the city of Vancouver.

Ohio-based developer G.M. Rembrowski Architect Inc. said in the filings the hotel would be constructed under a hotel franchise, to be chosen at a later date.

Total room count could vary based on final designs, the filings said. Current designs propose a total of 36,110 square feet — 7,222 square feet per floor — with 66 parking spaces. The applicant is requesting a parking variance.

The property is just east of the mall, near the intersection of Northeast 94th Avenue and Northeast Vancouver Mall Drive. Developers will meet with city planners March 30.
