Vancouver – The Washington Education Association will sponsor a school funding rally and forum Saturday at Roosevelt Elementary School.
Educators, parents and students will share stories of how underfunding of public schools affects them. Legislators from the 17th, 18th and 49th Legislative Districts have been invited, according to a news release by WEA.
Legislators are grappling with how to comply with the 2012 McCleary decision, in which the state Supreme Court ruled the state is failing to fully fund K-12 education.
The rally will run from 10 a.m. to noon in the school commons at 2921 Falk Road, Vancouver.
