Steve Bannon loves Russia; hates U.S.?
Bannon, at a party in his Capitol Hill townhouse, declared that his goal was “to destroy the state” (The New Yorker, February). He stated to Ronald Radosh, a journalist, that he was a Leninist. “Lenin,” he went on to say, “wanted to destroy the state, and that’s my goal too. I want to bring everything crashing down, and destroy all of today’s establishment” (The Daily Beast, August).
Bannon hates the GOP?
Bannon was the East Coast coordinator of all the Tea Party groups. His plan was that elected Republican representatives would be held accountable to fight for the agenda Bannon stood for. If they didn’t, “we would force them out” (Ibid). Remember, Eric Cantor, 2001-2014 U.S. representative, House majority leader, and supposed successor to John Boehner as speaker, was ousted in just such a maneuver. As a Tea Party leader, Bannon was outspoken about a planned hostile takeover of the GOP.
Bannon using Trump as “stooge?”
Later, when Bannon was running Donald Trump’s campaign, he called Trump “a blunt instrument for us,” adding, “I don’t know whether he really gets it or not” (The New Yorker, February).
