Letter: Be careful who you call ugly

I do not usually respond to the penned drivel of the left. However, they are picking up the pace, spurred on by their radicals who stir the pot. Marc Chamberlin’s Feb. 18 letter, “Ugly Americans are embarrassment” is one of the latest such articles. It is a continuation of Hillary Clinton’s “deplorable speech.” He calls the American people ugly, false Christians and bigots.

Do not purport to understand Christians when you, apparently, are not one yourself. Your choice of hateful statements reveals your heart. Liberals often reference the golden rule we should all live by. Unfortunately, they disregard their own advice and Christ’s other messages of tolerance.

Anytime Christians disagree with a leftist, we are tossed in with the group of haters they reserve for all conservatives. The progressive liberal ideal, on the other hand, kills more than 600,000 American children a year under the guise of pro-choice. Is that Christian? Do you know what ugly looks like? Step up to the mirror, open your eyes and read Christ’s words: Matthew 5: 11 and 12. What’s in your heart? We all answer to a higher authority and he is not hateful.
