WSDOT hosts meeting on debris slide

Ariel – The Washington State Department of Transportation is hosting a community meeting Tuesday to educate the public on the work being done to address the state Highway 503 landslide near Yale.

The meeting will focus on WSDOT’s work to safely stabilize a slope next to the highway, which involves removing a large rock face that has separated from the hillside.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cowlitz-Skamania Fire District 7, 11670 Lewis River Road in Ariel.

Representatives from the WDOT, Washington State Patrol, Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Department, Cowlitz County Fire District 7, North County Emergency Services and Cowlitz County Department of Emergency Management will be on hand to answer questions.
