Prep highlights: Kleier’s kick lifts Columbia River

Jackson Kleier scored on a free kick in the second half as the Columbia River boys soccer team beat Mark Morris 1-0 in a Class 2A Greater St. Helens League match on Wednesday.

The win kept River alone in first in the 3A GSHL with a 3-0 record.

Stars of the day

• Tommy Snyder, Evergreen baseball, allowed just one unearned run and three hits with seven strikeouts in a 4-1 win over Prairie.

• Lincoln Krog, Stevenson boys track and field, won the triple jump and high jump as Stevenson placed second in a four-team meet at King’s Way Christian.

• Nick Erickson, Washougal boys soccer, scored on a free kick from 40 yards in a 4-1 loss to Ridgefield.

• Andrew Williams, Ridgefield boys soccer, had two goals and one assists as the Spudders beat Washougal 4-1.

• Trent Snead, Woodland boys soccer, scored both Beaver goals as Woodland lost to Hockinson 3-2 on penalty kicks.
