Central Park — Lincoln Elementary School and the Washington State School for the Blind were two of 16 schools to receive grants from the Portland Trail Blazers Foundation and Wells Fargo through their “Take It to the Court for Education” program.

Lincoln received $3,500 to train its staff how to lead positive, interactive playground games intended to curb bullying, foster friendships and cooperation among students, all while teaching about fair play and problem solving.

The School for the Blind received $5,000 to replace aging fitness equipment used regularly by the school’s 60 visually-impaired students in grades 6-12.

In the past three years, the grant program has awarded $275,000 in funds to 49 schools in the region.
