Central Vancouver — Merle Osborne of Vancouver was honored by the Portland Trail Blazers at their March 2 game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Osborne, 97, is a World War II and Korean War veteran. He was honored after his grandson, Michael Osborne, contacted the Blazers to tell them about his grandfather, who never misses a Blazers game on TV.

The Blazers invited Merle Osborne to the game and walked him out on the court during a break in the action, where he received a standing ovation from those in attendance.
