Meadow Homes — Fort Vancouver High School’s Center for International Studies students accumulated more than 2,000 service hours on April 20, as they participated in Global Youth Service Day. The students made cards for veterans, patients and kids at Stepping Stones, built a split-rail fence at the fort, cleaned up Park Hill Cemetery, volunteered at Marshall Elementary School and Ogden Elementary School, painted Vancouver Rocks, raised awareness about the plight of the honey bee and bagged food at Share. Trappers4Trappers and the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools funded bus transportation, while the high school’s boosters paid for a visit from Rojo the Llama during lunch, when students could donate $1 to have their picture taken with Rojo. The money went to the Police Activities League.
