I live in the 9th Congressional District and am writing to commend Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, for her recent vote against the American Health Care Act. Even though her effort failed and the bill passed the House of Representatives, I applaud her for putting the health care of the citizens of our state and country ahead of the interests of her party.
I hope the Senate will reverse this shameful Republican health care alternative. The health insurance of millions of Americans depends on it, as does affordable and high quality health insurance for many of us.
