Letter: Nothing fake about GOP agenda

After watching the breaking news Monday on the major news channels that our president may have turned over top-secret classified information to the Russians during their recent meeting, I tuned to Fox News.

I found Fox’s host, Sean Hannity, referring again to the news media reporting on this as fake news. He brought on guests to say that the White House press briefings should be severely curtailed.

The meeting that President Trump had with the Russian ambassador locked out all of our American press but allowed the Russian press in to film them. This should be a wake-up call. With all of the investigations into issues of possible collusion with Russia, how long can the Republican Party continue to cover for a president that welcomed the Russians to hack Hillary Clinton’s emails and had connections that could have facilitated this?

Republicans, including our 3rd District Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, are part of the problem by voting to keep Trump’s tax records secret, so that they can achieve the take-back of health care from the poor and pass tax reforms that favor corporations and the wealthy.
