Vancouver Lake was packed on the water and shoreline Friday though Sunday as the 2017 U.S. Rowing Northwest Youth Championships were held.

Teams and individuals in 18 classes representing Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Northern California were vying for berths to the Youth National Championships June 9-11 in Tampa, Fla.

The Vancouver Lake Rowing Club was well represented. Fifteen boats competed in final events on Sunday for the local club. Top finisher was Claire Scott who won the women’s novice final with a time of 9 minutes, 29.645 seconds, and Emma DeVore was second in 9:35.282.
