Letter: Support Orange for port

By Alona Steinke, VANCOUVER

There is one outstanding candidate for commissioner at the Port of Vancouver. Don Orange is a local businessman and past chair of the Washington State Main Street Alliance. As a regular at the port meetings for the past three years, Orange has a vision for the port as one that will conduct business transparently and that will be responsive to the tax-paying public.

He knows that the port should take responsibility to protect our citizenry and our natural resources, specifically by not entertaining projects that would endanger thousands of jobs being created by the waterfront development.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
