Clark County — The Clark County Elections Office will mail about 3,300 new voter registration cards to voters who are now in new districts or precincts as a result of upcoming annexations by the city of Vancouver.

According to a news release, the elections office is sending out the new cards today in anticipation of upcoming annexations by the city of Vancouver of the Green Meadows and Vancouver Mall North area. The areas are expected to be annexed effective Aug. 1.

The elections office has made the change ahead of the effective date in order for these voters to be permitted to vote in the upcoming primary and general elections.

State law requires that voters be sent new cards each time they are moved to a different district or precinct, according to the news release. The new cards will be accompanied with a letter explaining the change.

Voters who receive a new card and have questions can contact the Clark County Elections Office at 360-397-2345 or at elections@clark.wa.gov.
