Letter: Trump fails the rest of us

Impeachment is a word seldom heard since the days of the Nixon saga, but I have a hunch we may hear it more often.

Our current president has surrounded himself with billionaires like himself, so it is somewhat ludicrous to think they are there to make life better and easier for the rest of us. Most of the initiatives we have seen thus far seem to be aimed at making themselves, their friends and families further enriched at the expense of the rest of us, especially the poorer folks of this country.

Although he’s been in office only four months, President Trump’s daily tantrums, his talent for alienating our friends and allies, his bullying tactics, texting, lying, deregulating our air and water laws, immigration issues, health care, tax cuts for the wealthy, and finally his apparent desire to camouflage his dealings with Russia make it almost inevitable that, sooner or later, Congress will have to somehow muster the intestinal fortitude to initiate an impeachment action against him.

A growing number of us feel the sooner the better.
