Letter: Don’t judge neighbors

I am responding to Faye Adams’ May 24 letter, “Food bank needs support.” I am saddened by her judgment of her neighbors. She states, “I hope the rest of this block never has to rely on the food bank for a meal.”

Maybe they already do. Or possibly they spend two or three hours a couple of days a week helping unload pallets off trucks, stocking shelves, repackaging food, weighing and packing boxes for distribution, or distributing those boxes. Maybe they buy extra food when they shop and place it in the bins at Fred Meyer or at Riverview Community Bank. Maybe they send a check every month.

Adams may want to go check on her neighbors, without judgment, and offer them a meal or a ride.
