Letter: Sanders not really a Democrat

Donna Brazile just re-opened the Sander’s Pandora’s Box (“Brazile stirring Democratic party strife,” Nov. 6). There is one simple fact that it seems everyone has forgotten. Bernie Sanders is not now and has never been a Democrat. Had he the resources and the wherewithal to get on the ballot honestly as the Independent that he is, he would have. But he had neither the resources nor the organizational skills to do so. Had the Democratic National Committee simply said, “Bernie, you are not a Democrat, so you cannot have a seat at the convention table,” the entire election would have had a different outcome.

It is time for Bernie and his ragtag followers to do the right thing, and form their appropriate Independent or Progressive Party, and leave well enough alone. That swan song is just a bit off-key.
