Clark volleyball advances to NWAC semifinal

Penguins win twice on Friday

The Clark College volleyball team moved into the semifinals of the winner’s bracket at the NWAC Championship in Tacoma with a pair of victories on Friday.

Clark started with a 3-1 win over Bellevue (18-25, 26-24, 25-21, 25-18).

The Penguins finished the day with a 3-1 win over South region rival Linn-Benton. Scores were 25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 25-14.

After losing the third set, Clark jumped out to a 10-1 and then 14-2 lead in the fourth set and never looked back.

Dalaney Tuholski had 15 kills and 27 digs for the Penguins. Olivia White had 11 kills, Marh Schorn had 50 digs, Olivia Jacoshenk had 25 assists and Megan Hess had 22 assists.

Against Bellevue, Tuholski had 15 kills, Schorn had 35 digs, Jacoshenk 26 assists, and Allyson Crisp 10 kills.

Clark (28-4) will see another familiar foe in Chemeketa at 1:30 p.m. Saturday for a spot in the final on Sunday. The loser of the Clark-Chemeketa match would have to win three matches Saturday in order to reach Sunday’s final of the double-elimination tournament.
